San Francisco City Hall: Night Photography

My regular blog readers will know that I’ve started a personal project to document San Jose City Hall in different angles and times of day. So, I was excited when I saw an event with the Night Photography Meetup Group to meet at the San Francisco Library for a social hour then gathering to shoot San Francisco City Hall.

When our social hour was over our group went outside and saw the sky which was still somewhat colorful after sunset. While it was still possible to do so, I made a silhouette of the structure.

It turns out it was a special evening at the San Francisco City Hall. The Bay Area Red Cross was holding their Paint the Town Red fundraiser, so they rolled out the red carpet for the attendees.

As it became darker more blue tones came out in the building.

Finally nighttime arrived and brought out blues and golds all over the building. I enjoyed taking photos with unusual angles and to my surprise even found a statue of Abraham Lincoln.

As the nighttime sky turned to the familiar blackness I captured some final shots of City Hall in its amazing colors.
