Fish, it’s what’s for dinner!

A lot of the foods I liked as a child I like as an adult. Recently I took stock of what I was eating and decided that I wanted to both lose a bit of weight (which would be 20 pounds and would put me at a healthy and toned weight for my height) and eat healthier overall.

So after doing a bit of Internet research, now I’m following The Mediterranean Diet and have been for about four weeks.

The diet is a healthy lifestyle, yet the changes have been challenging. I miss certain sweets, though I’m doing well with eating them in moderation, a square of high cacao chocolate has been a great treat now and then. I’m happy I’m eating more fruits and vegetables, which I do enjoy and per the diet many meals have been completely vegetarian such as salad wraps. Red meat is in very small moderation on this diet, and while I’m not missing the taste of a burger now and then, I definitely miss the convenience of grabbing one when I see a burger place now and then.

Best of all though is the fish. I love seafood and sushi and the meals with fish are often the tastiest of the week. I hope this is a lifestyle change for me even after I have attained my goal weight.
