Anna and Nate – Half Moon Bay – Day After Session + Casual Portraits

Anna and Nate had a lot of fun on their wedding day. They realized having photos taken that day was one of their favorite parts, so they decided they wanted to have more portraits taken soon after. We did a mini Day After Session, a chance for a couple to get all dressed up again, with more time to have portraits taken, as well as some casual dressed down portraits.

For the more formal bridal clothes shots we used the lush greenery around us, then ventured down to the beach for some fun and energetic moments.

Anna and Nate were amazing in how they were able to relax and just have fun during their session. When she kicked up her heels Anna almost lost her shoe, it just barely stayed on her foot a moment after I took this shot.

Nate asked specifically for a shot of them surrounded by nature. Then he surprised Anna by kneeling down as if proposing again which cracked her up.

It’s amazing how different two photos can look when taken a short time apart. The photo on the right in which they still have on their wedding attire, was taken to make a sun still high in the sky silhouette, and the one on the left was taken less than half an hour later on their way down to the beach.

Soon after getting to the beach off came the shoes and it was time to run on the sand.

Their dark clothes, especially Anna’s black leather jacket made for some great black and white close ups.

Anna enjoys teaching and performing as a ballet dancer, so she incorporated dance moves into the session.

With the setting of the sun it was time to take a few more silhouette shots to wrap up the session.
